Women Invited To Be In The Swing For Charity

15th March 2008

Women are invited to club together to help a city charity by taking part in a special golfing event.

Dream-A-Way is inviting teams to join in the swing of things at its sixth annual Ladies' Golf Day at Stover Golf Club,
Newton Abbot, on June 26th 2008.

The charity raises cash to provide day trips and holidays for seriously ill or disabled people of all ages from across the South West.

Norma Foster, from Exeter, started the event and runs it every year to raise funds for the charity.

She said: "Over the years, the ladies have superbly raised more than £10,000. I've been thrilled with the entries this year.

"One team even phoned up on Christmas Eve to ensure a space. There are very few spaces left and we advise people to book them soon, so as not to miss out on this very popular day."

There will be a three ball team and individual event, with full handicaps.

Teams of three can enter for a cost of £27 per person, including a two- course meal, the main golf competition and a competition in the club house. There will also be a prize draw.

"Regent Inns are sponsoring the main event," she said.

"We are very grateful to them as they have done this since the event began six years ago. Mitie Engineering are again generously providing us with some superb prizes."

She added: "Everyone that takes part in the event can have a great, fun day and know that
every penny that is raised will go to Dream-A-Way."
