What does Dream-A-Way mean to us?
Well where do I start, 4 years ago my then 15 year old son was diagnosed with
a terminal illness our world fell apart.
Only a parent in my position would know what it feels like to wake in the
middle of the night and have to go and poke your child to make sure that they
are still alive.
The feeling of dread that your child is going to die before you and the guilt
that you have done something wrong.
We were put in touch with Dream-A-Way a few months later and they offered us a
week away in a luxury caravan. A week away from hospitals and doctors and
tests.
I was able to take my whole family with us and not worry about how I was going
to pay for it. The week was amazing, my son had a wish list of things that he
wanted to do. We were able to do paintballing, water walkers and much more.
To watch your son laughing and smiling without a care in the world is
something that money cant buy. We still had all the same problems in the back
of our minds but for that week that’s where they stayed, in the back of my
mind. Dream-A-Way became our extended family, my earth angels.
To help with my sons wish list Dream-A-Way sent us on a day out, no ordinary
day out we were sent in a limo. We went to Paignton Zoo where my son fed the
animals and then onto living coasts. We had lots of tears that day, not from
my son but from me, my mum and my sister. Tears from lots of different
feelings, amazing memories for his sister to keep and my mum never dreamt that
she would be riding around in limo.
Dream-a-way have helped my family to stay strong, I have never met people like
them before. Caring and understanding and never expecting anything in return.
I will never be able to thank them enough and I believe that if there is an
award out there somewhere for outstanding commitment and devotion to people
that they should be at the top of the list.

I wanted to tell you how much my family enjoyed our recent stay
at Devon Cliffs.
We stayed from June 14 for a week
and it was a fabulous week for us and our children. The caravan itself was great, the views were breath-taking.
Many thanks also go to Dream-a-way who own the caravan, it's a credit to them.
We would very much like to come again next year

We had such a fantastic holiday at sandy bay, thank
you.
The caravan was first class with the most amazing view. Our daughter
probably had the greatest time of her life, she settled so well into the
caravan that she didn't want to leave. She enjoyed all the children's
shows and has been constantly looking at all the photos I took.
Thank you so much for this well deserved break it will truly remain in our
memories forever.

Many thanks again for organising the lovely day out at Bicton.
It’s really made a difference to people’s sense of isolation.
Do keep in touch, and if there’s anything I can be of help with, do please let me know,
Best wishes,

The children really enjoyed themselves, and it gave us chance to relax (well, rush Disney style) and we loved it. Thank you so much for your wonderful help.

I wanted to write to say thank you for our holiday last
week at Devon Cliffs park.
Everything went so well and we really enjoyed
the break. The caravan and site were superb quality and provided an
excellent setting to have a restful and energising time.
Reuben certainly enjoyed himself and was very excited about all the visits
and opportunities during the week.
The caravan itself was very comfortable and the views were breathtaking
and well worth waking up to each morning.
Dream-A-Way is an excellent charity and provides a superb service to
families such as ours. We look forward to attending some of the
fundraising opportunities and would be always willing to sell raffle
tickets to support any of your events.
Once again a very big thank you.

Thank you Jeff and the Committee,
I would have replied sooner, but I was so excited that I would have just
babbled at you.
I truly can't express our thanks enough, so before I do start babbling,
THANKYOU.
Now I'm really smiling

Just wanted to email you to say thank you so so so much for giving us a
holiday.
We are all very very excited. I will send you some photos as
well, which you are welcome to use in your newsletter. Thank you, we are
all very excited.

Thank you so much for our holiday at Sandy Bay.
The caravan was fabulous and the ramp was such a bonus for Matt and Bert
(who have trouble with steps).
The weather was very kind to us although I'm sure we would still have had
a lovely time.
Bert enjoyed the views and Matt and Tony enjoyed the entertainment and
leisure complex.
Matt's efforts at swimming greatly improved and Tony swam for the first
time in 7 years!!!!
He used to be such a good swimmer, but stopped swimming when he became ill
and then wouldn't try again - so this was a huge step forward - thank you
all so much.
Matt just kept saying "It was a lovely holiday - thank you".
Thank you all once again

Hi, so sorry I haven't emailed you before but we
have been so busy with Kyle's first week back at school in year 5.
We must say the caravan was wonderful, the whole site was brilliant, and
Kyle made plenty of friends.
The beach was great and it was good to spend time as a family in a relaxed
atmosphere.
Hopefully we could have somewhere next year as it gave us time to spend
together and appreciate ourselves as a family again, as Terry and myself
are both ill you forget about the whole family sometimes.
I have a couple of mobile phones here you can have if you let me know
where to take them.
And again many many thanks from our hearts for all the time and effort
that you all put into getting us a holiday.

Just a quick email to say hello and to let you
know how things are. Everything is going great with the transplant.
My kidney function is excellent and no signs of any rejection.
Everything is getting back to normal. This is the best I've felt in 17
years. I am about to have my leg amputated in the New year. I feel I have
to have it done, whilst I'm feeling so well. Bit scary but I've got my
head around it! There's going to be plenty of partying for me this
week!!!!
I am getting so excited, this time next week I will be relaxing in the
sun! I've been all packed to go for a month so I definitely will be
going!!! I'm determined. Anyway Thank you Dream-A -Way for giving me this
opportunity to go on holiday. We will be in touch as soon as we get back,
with lots of photos! Thank you.
Anyway, we wish you and Dream-A-Way A VERY MERRY CHRISTMAS and A HAPPY NEW
YEAR.
Thank you for your kindness in the past 2 years........and YOU KEEP
SMILING :)
